Most of us struggle to measure up. It can be subtle but not hard to see when we look. We want to get the grade, win the prize, be special. Or at least be in the running, not in last place. Even those of us who eschew the rat race strain to distinguish ourselves by how we are so unlike the rat race leaders.
This is all very draining. We waste our resources by judging, comparing, and maneuvering.
It is also unnecessary.
Instead, let’s see ourselves as valuable just because we are. Then we can direct our time and energy into creating anything that brings more joy and growth–with and for whomever. What a world that would be.
In your corner,
Michael
