Daymare Cure

When you wake from a nightmare you get yourself back to a peaceful sleep by distracting yourself with thoughts you enjoy: an upcoming vacation, the way your house keeps you cozy on a cold night, the sheer wonder of it all.

Do the same when you have a daymare. Next time you notice that you’ve been using your imagination to conjure things to fear, fret, or fight, stop. Distract yourself to a more peaceful and productive day with thoughts you enjoy.

PS: If you need some help with the “sheer wonder of it all,” just take a quick glance into another person’s eyes. Not so long that they’d notice you doing it! Just enough of a glance to remember. Cheesy? Schmaltzy? Only if you get caught.
