Most of us live our lives trying to make the world behave as we think it should. We think, “That person or this situation changing is what will make me happy.” Without thinking about it, we have given away happiness now for a form of happiness that may never arrive. We have set conditions on our happiness.
What’s the alternative? Unconditional happiness.
If we just scratch the surface, we can see that happiness is something available to us now, and now, and again now. Raising our buzz–feeling better–is always available to us. When we do raise our buzz, we will be happier. And, oddly, the world will find a way to change for the better without us having to struggle to make it so.
We do this for ourselves and for others. As leaders, it’s our job to show everyone else how this works.
In your corner,
Mike
