Worth, Assured

For some reason, almost every one of us has a deep need to prove ourselves, our worth. This need impels us to do, do, do. It’s exhausting.

And it is false.

We are all innately and equally worthy. We can quickly debunk any potential measure of worth (income, position, education, race, nationality, religion, belief, intelligence, politics, charity) that says otherwise. There is nothing for us to prove. We can relax. Our worth is assured.

Ah, but does this mean we must also stop our work? Without the drive to prove ourselves, must we give up our missions in life, our raisons d’être?

No.

But it does mean that, instead of struggling to prove ourselves, we get to do our work, fulfill our missions for the sheer and utter joy of it.

Go. Enjoy.

In your corner,

Mike
