Subtle and powerful

Challenge
Try this: for one week, replace the word but with the word and.

Example: If you catch yourself saying something like, “I want to go out to a fancy dinner but I can’t afford it,” try saying, “I want to go out to a fancy dinner and I can’t afford it.”

Or, “We need to be more strategic but we have too much firefighting tasks to do.” That becomes, “We need to be more strategic and we have too much firefighting to do.”

Try saying those example sentences out loud. Do you feel it? What difference to you notice? When I do this exercise, I notice a sense of calm. And I get that I am free to choose, make changes.

Tell me how you do with this challenge this week.
