Say It Out Loud

say it

The tools we use to raise our buzz–to feel good before acting–involve finding thoughts that feel better to think than we are feeling now. We can further hack these lifehacks by saying them out loud. For example, instead of flipping a thought in our heads, we can speak the better-feeling thought.

Hearing ourselves speak a thought anchors it more quickly and deeply. We will believe it, act on it, and derive benefits from that belief sooner than just thinking the thought in our heads.

In your corner,

Mike

PS: Of course, be careful: we will see the same fast and strong anchoring of a belief when we speak a feel-bad thought.
