Looking Back or Forward

Do you need to understand your past in order to move forward, to succeed where you have not yet succeeded?

Nope. And you can if you want to.

When you look back, say, to your childhood, you will see how the reactions you had and the choices you made as a child created habits of thought that may still be effect. Some of them may still work for you; some may not. It can be an interesting journey.

The relevant point is that you can build new habits whether or not you understand the old ones or their roots. You simply follow your feelings. When you feel bad, you are thinking thoughts that limit your success. When you feel better, you are thinking thoughts that expand your success. Build the habit of catching the bad-feeling thoughts and choosing ones that feel better.

If you need success on the hurry-up, skip the look back.

In your corner,

Mike
